After three years of construction, Texas Pride Barbecue opened its doors for business in 1996. Owners Tony and Joni Talanco continue the business which Tony's grandfather, Steve Talanco, started in 1924. Serving some of the finest barbecue in San Antonio, Texas Pride also has a very unique atmosphere. Recreating the original restaurant that Steve Talanco owned, the walls of Texas Pride are covered with antiques and memorabilia and the building and surrounding area is decorated with juke boxes, gas pumps, and old farm equipment. On the menu is brisket, chicken, ribs, and their own blend country sausage. Texas Pride also caters for small or large parties, weddings, conventions, and anniversaries.
